Terry Jarrard-Dimond :: Textile Constructions

You know what? I declare today "Quilt Day". Why not? So, speaking of quilts and textiles and my love of crazy, abstract art... have you seen Terry Jarrard-Dimond's work??? OH MY. This is what I'm talking about when I see paintings and say "That would look awesome as a rug or a quilt". Except that Terry actually makes it happen. I am in awe of this lady's talent and vision! Just... Wow!

About:
I worked as a sculptor for many years but in the 1990’s, I took a position in a textile company as a designer. It was during that time that I became interested in quilt making. I began to explore the materials and techniques of quilt making so that I could make a personal and unique statement. I think of my work as Textile Constructions, and I work at my art full time. I view this work as a record of my studio experience, my inner life, my imagination and my dreams. The works are abstract compositions that invite interpretation. They can originate as a response to a color, a song, something I’ve read, a thumbnail sketch or any combination of things I experience in daily living. The work is constructed by machine-piecing, using fabric that I hand dye, it is then intensely machine quilted.
