Such a rad font..

Created by Andy Goodridge for Cello Group

About:
By using shapes constructed from a child's toy railway set, I created a simple brand marque and a bespoke typeface. The use of a child's toy puts an element of fun into the brand, allowing users of the opportunity to have fun with it and use their own creativity to make their own shapes and designs. A full alphabet has been developed for this typeface in both display and light versions.

TypeFace Tuesday :: Art and Urban Development by Autobahn

. 7.21.2009
1 Remarks

.So cool.

Verkenners (Art and area-development) is a collaboration between artists and area developers. Together they are looking for a way to use art in new development areas. Can the use of art and culture in area development projects contribute to improve the quality of area development? What opportunities are there for artists? And can we create involvement among the future residents of the area?

Autobahn created a 'small but friendly publication', with answers to these questions and a presentation of projects. The image concept for this book is inspired by the series' Landscapes' by photographer Levi of Veluw. In consultation with Levi, Autobahn has used this image to create a typographic image. The photography is provided by Marieke Wijntjes.

INFORMATIONLEAK by Richard J. Evans

INFORMATIONLEAK was my Final Major Project while at FEED, Matthew Boulton College. It was exhibited at Free Range Graduate Art & Design Show in London and again at FEED_NOISE, our end of year show at Millennium Point in Birmingham. It has also been featured on CMYKern.com and typographyserved.com.

What I tried to do was visually represent the way information is so easily leaked into today's society, through the Internet and television. Pretty much anything you can imagine, you can get your hands on. With such an abundance of information, I feel as though it over-flows into our lives and the typography is purposefully hard to read to reflect this.

See more of Richard J. Evans' work!

.LOOOOVE this jewelry!! All these beautiful pieces are created by Jennifer, the founder and artist behind Bumblesea.

About:

Bumblesea creates vibrant and luxe heirloom quality treats with a contemporary feel. The necklaces are a modern concoction of handcrafted silver, crystals, and gemstones. Each unique jewelry design is handmade and given a light fast, colorful glow with a combination of pigments, powdered minerals, and enamel.

Bumblesea isn't about jewelry, it's a company fueled by my lifelong obsession with creating unusually beautiful things. At this point, silversmithing is what fascinates me the most. I'm attracted to the delicate yet rugged properties of silver and other metals.

.Holy moly, Jennifer Sanchez's work is freaking awesome. I would love to have my home filled with her beautiful paintings! Those colors, people, look at those colors!

About:
My paintings invite the viewer to experience new and emergent spaces. They explore relational space and the idea that while having no positive existence of its own, space allows everything else to exist. They are full of bright colors, circles and swirls that illustrate a perpetually changing environment. They can be best described as exploding optimism and are unabashedly happy. At this point, I want to experiment with new palettes, add more spontaneous elements, work larger, and learn more about different conceptions of space.

Check out Jennifer's blog for more insight into her process and influences.
