MAIYA on Houzz!

We're adults and it's official.

Well, we closed on our house today! All the papers are signed and we move in this weekend! Snuts! Now we start the life of a home owner — repairs, upkeep, renovation, and a great sense of ownership! We've packed about 75% of our stuff already and are antsy to get moved in. I even found a new home for the puffers! A nice lady named Eva came and picked them up about 10 minutes ago. She has another aquarium already with 2 puffers and is starting a second with my little guys. They sure were fun to have! I'll probably start another aquarium in a month or so.. maybe freshwater.

That's all I've got for now. Enjoy this:

Move it, m_v_ _t.

Brady and I are moving to Lehi on Saturday. We're excited to have a place of our own and are looking forward to these next couple months in which we will very slowly accumulate the bare essentials. Right now we have a couch. I have a desk and no chair.. Brady has a chair and no desk. We do not have a bed, or a table, or chairs.. or really anything else. We have a small backyard covered in grass and no lawn mower. Maybe we'll just let it grow until it snows and we no longer have to think about it.. If you don't see the problem, the problem doesn't exist! I'm also debating whether or not I should sell/give away my last 2 pufferfish before the move. If you know anyone who may want them, they're pretty cute and look like this:

They have the potential to grow up to 6-7 inches, although mine are about 2.5-3" right now. They're quite fun, but require a bit more care than freshwater fish. If you're interested, here's some info and here's some more.

Show me how you stroll

Friends, family, and random blog prowlers, I have exciting news. I will be having my first solo show/exhibition this August/September. The show opening will be August 17th, the third Friday, as part of Salt Lake City's monthly Gallery Stroll. I will be showing some older work as well as my more recent 7 Deadly Sins series. Prints of these images will be for sale at the gallery as well as online. The show will be located at the recently renovated Saans Photography Showroom/Gallery. So mark your calendars and come support me! If you can't make it to the opening, the show will be up for 4 weeks following the opening.
