Skyscrapers :: Bauhaus-Inspired Coasters

I was all about those letterpress coasters, but in case you're wanting something a little more long-lasting, check out these glass Bauhaus-inspired coasters.  Based on Josef Albers's Skyscrapers series of glass compositions c. 1929, these little tabletop-protectors are sure to add a nice modern touch to your home.

About:

In the Skyscapers series, Albers explored industrial techniques to create objective art and showcased his interest in modernist architecture. Applying a technique used for engraving headstones, Albers created the abstract compositions by sand-blasting sheets of colored glass.  The coasters are made of printed glass. Wipe clean. Set of four.  Authorized by the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation.

Skyscrapers Glass Coaster Set available from the MoMA Store: $30
