The Ink Collection :: Knoll Textiles

It's no secret that I love me some wallpaper, so when I got news about this new collaboration from Knoll Textiles and designer Abbott Miller I got kind of excited.  The Ink Collection "uses the liquid movement of ink as a point of departure for a series of highly graphic patterns.  Miller designed the collection by experimenting with how ink moves across the surface of paper."  Pretty cool, right?  Check out more photos here.

Guest Room Update :: Wallpaper

We're making progress, kids!  Last Friday we got our wallpaper hung (by the same lady who did our bathroom - I can't recommend her enough) and it looks A M A Z I N G !  Thanks to the vertical pattern, it even makes the room feel bigger and taller, an effect I hadn't really thought about (yay for happy surprises).  Coupled with our dresser and its cute little knobs, we've got one seriously cheerful guest room wall.  Now to accessorize, accessorize, accessorize!

2011 Designer Paint Palettes :: BHG

I always find color trends to be an interesting thing and recently there's been a return to what I can only describe as neo-80s palettes.  I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it, but it is what it is (don't expect me to be painting my walls honeysuckle anytime soon, though).

Better Homes & Gardens recently asked a group of designers to come up with some fresh color palettes for 2011, which is what you see above.  I'm having a hard time liking any of them, although, shockingly, I'm inexplicably drawn to #7...  And I've never been a fan of the melon/green combo.  It must be the end of the world.

What are your thoughts (on the above palettes or the recent 80s-inspired color trends)?

For a breakdown of all the paints used, check out BHG.
