Anette Blaesbjerg Orom :: Textile Art

Danish textile artist Anette Blaesbjerg Orom employs a variety of techniques (everything from weaving to embroidery to hand-felting) to create these stunning, one-of-a-kind tapestries.  Aren't they gorgeous? I mean, check out those details, guys, they're amazing.  I would love to have a collection of these displayed in my home!

You can purchase select pieces (signed and framed) through Ashes & Milk.

Rachel Hunnicutt :: Fiber Art

Barnacles, baby!  I don't know about you, but I am highly intrigued by these hand-crocheted and wood-mounted pieces from textile artist Rachel Hunnicutt.  Taking traditional techniques and applying them to new forms is endlessly fascinating to me and Ms. Hunnicutt does it with a certain amount of flair!

Inspired by "organic, repeating shapes found in nature... barnacles, coral, fungus, clusters of seed pods", she creates intricate arrangements one pod at a time.  A labor of love, no doubt!  Check out more of her work right here.

Fiber Art by Rachel Hunnicutt: $24 - $200
