2011 Designer Paint Palettes :: BHG

I always find color trends to be an interesting thing and recently there's been a return to what I can only describe as neo-80s palettes.  I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it, but it is what it is (don't expect me to be painting my walls honeysuckle anytime soon, though).

Better Homes & Gardens recently asked a group of designers to come up with some fresh color palettes for 2011, which is what you see above.  I'm having a hard time liking any of them, although, shockingly, I'm inexplicably drawn to #7...  And I've never been a fan of the melon/green combo.  It must be the end of the world.

What are your thoughts (on the above palettes or the recent 80s-inspired color trends)?

SF Thrift :: MidCentury Modern Finds

I'm thinking a trip to San Francisco would be worth it just to go to this shop!  MidCentury Modern Finds is a thrift store in the Bay Area whose sole focus is, you guessed it, mid-century modern wares.  From tables to storage, chairs to lighting, if you want it they've got it.  Their collection of vintage art, objects, and accessories is also pretty impressive.  So, whaddya say Adventurers?  Road trip to San Fran??  Who has a trailer?

Sayso Design :: Vera Neumann Pillows

Kristin Mernitz began collecting Vera Neumann textiles (namely napkins and scarves) over fifteen years ago, but she realized she had a problem when she started hiding these purchases from her husband.  As a remedy to the situation, she began turning her collection into a series of vibrantly colored pillows and selling them through her shop Sayso Design.  While she no longer collects Vera's textiles, her stash isn't dwindling any time soon (which is good news for us)!  If you'd like to snag a pillow or two, check out her shop right here.
